WASHINGTON, DC --- Sophomore Kela Gray and senior Rasheeda Ansari each logged hat tricks to lead the Howard women's soccer team to a 8-0 shutout of Alcorn State University in the team's SWAC finale Sunday afternoon.
Gray pushed her team leading tally to 17 by scoring the game's first three goals while Ansari finished the game with her 7th, 8th and 9th goal of the year.
Freshmen Makela Davidson and Anna Mitchell added the scores between Gray and Ansari's bookended hat tricks.
The victory gave the Bison (11-7) a final conference record of 7-3 and a two-year mark of 16-4 in Howard's first two seasons of SWAC competition.
With HU's conference schedule complete, the team must now wait for its seed in the 2015 SWAC Tournament to be decided, as every other team in the league has as least one contest remaining. The Bison currently sit in 3rd place behind Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State.
