WASHINGTON, DC --- Howard Men's Soccer remained winless on the season after a 2-0 Sun Belt Conference loss to the Georgia Southern University Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Greene Stadium.
The Bison (0-13-2, 0-2 SBC) were able to keep the Eagles (4-5-1, 1-1 SBC) off the board for the first 30 minutes of the game until an unlucky bounce of the ball put them in a 1-0 hole. A successful block of a shot from Georgia Southern's Eric Dinka deflected to the Eagles' Christian Duncan, who converted the second-chance attempt (35')
Graduate goalkeeper
Sam Howard kept the Bison in striking distance by making one of his five saves on a GASO penalty kick in the 42nd minute.
Georgia Southern set the final margin on a 90th minute score, the second time in as many games that Howard allowed a goal in the game's final seconds.
NEXT UPHoward will travel to Farmville, VA to take on Longwood University on Tuesday, October 20 in its nonconference finale. First kick is scheduled for 6 p.m.
