WASHINGTON, DC ---
Greg McGhee and
Cameron Alston have been named to the 2014 BOXTOROW Preseason Football All-America Team.
McGhee, the 2013 MEAC Player of the Year and 2014 Preseason Player of the Year, needs just 2,913 yards to become the conference and school's all-time total offensive leaders. The record is held by McGhee's quarterback coach,
Ted White. The 6-3, 210-pound senior from Pittsburgh, PA passed for over 2,300 yards while rushing for almost 900 yards as Howard led the conference in total offense last season.
Alston, a 6-0, 190-pound red-shirt senior safety from North Augusta, SC, led the team in tackles with 100 last year while picking off three interceptions and recovering a fumble en route to being named first team all conference. Alston is also a preseason all MEAC selection.
