Box Score DOVER, DE --- Led by freshman outside hitter Khaila Donadson, the Howard women's volleyball team earned its fifth consecutive victory, defeating the Delaware State Hornets 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-22) in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) action on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Hall.

The sweep for Howard (14-9, 7-1 MEAC) was its seventh of the season and third in a row. It also gives the Lady Bison the season series over Delaware State (1-20, 1-6 MEAC) a game after claiming the home and home series over UMES.

Donaldson finished the contest with a match-high 15 kills - one of five different Lady Bison with at least seven kills in the game. Donaldson is riding a eight-game double digit kill stretch and has recorded 10 or more kills in 21 of 23 games this season.

Senior setter Stephanie Shultis assisted on 46 points while senior libero Allyson Lods had 10 digs - each tops among all players.

While Delaware State came into the game with a single MEAC victory, the Hornets played Howard extremely tough, to the tune of 19 ties and 10 lead changes in the match. However, the Hornets could never escape the Lady Bison as DSU never held a lead of more than three points over Howard. 

HU would show its resilience by withstanding late pushes from Delaware State and finally taking the lead after their 17th point of set one, 18th point of set two and 22nd point of set three.

The Lady Bison will return to DC on Halloween for a matchup with Norfolk State the first of two home MEAC matches against the Virginia schools. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
