Box Score 3 NEW YORK, NY --- Howard Volleyball put on an impressive showing this weekend, winning two of three games at the St. Francis Brooklyn Terrier Invitational in Brooklyn Heights, NY. After dropping their first match on Friday against Rider University, the Lady Bison would sweep Saturday's action with a five-set triumph over host St. Francis and a three-set sweep of New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
When asked about the road trip and the week overall (which includedÂ
a 3-1 home win over LaSalle), Head Coach
Shaun Kupferberg said, "We are happy to finish the week 3-1, but can still see there is a lot of work ahead of us.  The potential is there, but there is a lot of hard work ahead of us if we want to accomplish our goals this year."
RIDER 3, HOWARD 1
The Lady Bison (2-3) began the two-day invitational on the right foot, taking the first game over Rider, 25-21. The Broncos (4-1) would come back in Game 2 with a 25-15 win, a victory that would propel them to wins in the next two games to win the match (25-23, 25-21).
Katherine Broussard led Howard in kills with 16, while
Dominique Cleggett &
Jaleeza Stoudermire recorded 8 kills apiece.

HOWARD 3, ST. FRANCIS BROOKLYN 2
Howard would start Day 2 of the invitational the same as the first, taking their first game against the host Terriers, 25-20. HU (3-3) would claim the second game of the match as well in more dominating fashion, 25-13. Not to be denied, St. Francis (2-4) stormed back in games 3 & 4, 25-20 and 25-18.
In the Lady Bison's first deciding set of the season, the young squad rose to the occasion to take down the Terrier, 15-12.
Broussard again paced HU in kills, putting away another 20 attacks and adding 19 digs.
Meagan Lagerlef finished with 14 kills, while
Destinee Harrison added 11.
Stephanie Shultis racked up 54 assists while
Allyson Lods led the team with 27 digs.
HOWARD 3, NJIT 0
The momentum the Lady Bison (4-3) in their first two games manifested completely in their three-game sweep of the Highlanders (1-2), 25-16, 25-18, 25-19. Broussard and Lagerlef each notched 11 kills and were two of five players to post attack percentages over .400.
Howard returns to action this Tuesday, September 10 as the Lady Bison host North Carolina Central at 7:00 PM.       Â
