No. 3 Howard v. No. 1 Hampton

NORFOLK, VA. (www.howard-bison.com) – March 16 – In their fourth Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship meeting with No. 1 Hampton, the No. 3 Howard Lady Bison took second place with a 59-38 loss on Saturday, March 16 at Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va.

Senior Kara Smith tallied the only double figure outing of the contest with 12 points, while Saadia Doyle notched nine points and Cheyenne Curley-Payne pulled down a team-high five rebounds.

In the loss, Howard shot 61 percent from the free-throw line, 21 percent from the field and 16 percent from three-point range.

Hampton seized the lead from the 14:40 mark, when the Lady Pirates took the first double-figure lead.

Howard concludes the season with a record of 20-11 overall and 14-5 in the conference.

HU finishes with its second consecutive 20+ winning season.

The Lady Bison will awaits the opportunity to participate in the WNIT, information will be shared within the next week.
