In 2026, Tamia Dockery returned to her alma mater as an assistant coach after two years at Cornell University.

During her time at Cornell (2024-25), Dockery was a member of the staff that was named Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year (2024). That season, the Big Red finished with an overall 14-10 record and 8-6 Ivy record, the best season since 2019, earning their first trip to the Ivy League Tournament since the Ivy League introduced a four-team single elimination tournament (2022).

During her one-year stint in New Orleans (2023), Dockery helped the Privateers to its first Southland Conference Tournament victory in program history with a five-set marathon over the University of the Incarnate Word. Serving as the team's offensive coordinator, Dockery also coached Karen Cordero Barr, who earned Second Team All-Louisiana Honors after leading the team with 329 kills and 12 double-digit outings (2023). 

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in sports medicine (Spring 2019), Dockery joined the staff in a volunteer role under head coach Shaun Kupferberg, specializing in setter training and development.

During her playing career with the Bison, Dockery won four consecutive MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Championships (2015-18). She was named to the All-MEAC First Team twice (2017-18) and won MEAC Player of the Year (2018).
