In his second season with the Bison, Kevin Murphy graduated from The University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2016 where he played No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles.

After college, Murphy came back home to Prince George’s County and began coaching at his alma matter, Gonzaga College High School, where they won two WCAC titles in three seasons.

In 2022, Murphy transitioned to coaching full time at the Smith-Stearns Tennis Academy in South Carolina. There, he worked with several players now playing Division I college tennis, along with a 2024 Gold Ball winner, a top 300 ITF junior and a now ATP pro.

In 2023, Murphy came back to Maryland where he served as the assistant women’s coach at Johns Hopkins University, helping them reach a No. 6 national ranking in Division III, winning the Centennial Conference in 2024 and reaching the NCAA Division III national tournament. Murphy was recognized as part of the Centennial Conference’s Coaching Staff of the Year for the 2024 season.

From 2024-26, Murphy worked at the Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC) where he worked with numerous nationally ranked Juniors.
