Ellis Pierre

In 2019, Ellis Pierre joined the Howard University women's soccer program as an assistant coach.

During the 2024 season, Pierre helped the Bison to their first NEC (Northeast Conference) Regular Season and Tournament Titles with a 11-5-5 (8-1-1 NEC) mark. Howard reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018. Along the way, seven Bison received NEC Postseason honors, including five major awards: Brent Leiba (NEC Coach of the Year); Gabriella Garcia-Terrell (NEC Rookie of the Year); Samantha James (NEC Midfielder of the Year); Rachel Suttle (NEC Defensive Player of the Year) and Trinity Knox (NEC Goalkeeper of the Year).

In 2023, Howard rebounded after a 3-11-2 mark (2-6-1 NEC) during the 2022 campaign, finishing with a 12-6-2 record (6-3-1 NEC) while earning its first NEC Tournament berth. After the regular season, five Bison earned NEC Postseason honors, highlighted by Trinity Knox winning NEC Goalkeeper of the Year.

After the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19, Howard return to action the following year (2021), posting a 6-5-3 mark, including a 5-3-2 record in the inaugural Northeast Conference (NEC) season. After the regular season, Melea Earley received All-NEC Second Team and All-Rookie Team honors.

During the 2019 campaign, Howard won a program-best 14 matches en route to a share of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Regular Season Title. Howard head coach Brent Leiba also won the league's coach of the year award. Along the way, the Bison earned numerous postseason accolades: Thalia Boucher (SWAC Co-Player of the Year; All-SWAC First Team); Kendall Macauly (SWAC Defensive Player of the Year; All-SWAC First Team); Victoria Thornton (All-SWAC Second Team); Alayah Hightower (SWAC Goalkeeper of the Year; All-SWAC First Team).
