  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Jamie Brentlinger joined her older sister, Head Coach Karli Brentlinger, as the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Howard in August 2015. The pair are not new to working together, as they grew up playing various sports together, shared two years of their college careers at Longwood University and most recently coached at West Virginia Wesleyan together.

“Jamie brings a wealth of knowledge of the game with her and I am excited for her to bring her passion to our growing program. We work extremely well together and feed off of each other’s competitive energy which makes for a stimulating environment," said Karli.

From 2014-15, Brentlinger served as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Division II West Virginia Wesleyan. She helped lead the team to a 13- 5 record and second place finish in the inaugural Mountain East Conference Championship. The Bobcats earned ten All–MEC honors, including four First team, three Second Team, one Honorable Mention and two Freshmen team selections. Also, WVWC earned three All-MEC Tournament selections and three MEC Players of the Week during her tenure.

Before Wesleyan, Jamie served as an assistant coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania from 2013-14, where she helped the Crimson Hawks reach an overall ranking of 13th in the nation for Division II, while placing three student-athletes on the IWLCA All-American teams, three on the IWLCA All-Region squad, and also earning WLCA Academic accolades.

As a student-athlete, Jamie had a stellar playing career at Division I Longwood University. An All-Big South First Team selection and team captain as a senior in 2013, she tallied 73 points (scoring a team-best 49 goals and adding 24 assists). She earned several other accolades during her senior campaign: Big South All-Tournament Team; Big South All-Academic Team; Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) First Team All-State University Division; and VaSID All-Academic Team.

Jamie helped the Lancers to a National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) title in 2010 and also led the team in scoring as a junior in 2012. Brentlinger was a four-time Longwood Scholar Athlete (2010-13) and a two-time NLC Academic All-League (2011-12).

She played internationally for USA Athletes International, helping the Americans earn a third place finish at the 2012 European Championship Festival. Jamie has also played in exhibition games against the New Zealand National Team in 2013 and the Wales National Team in 2008.

Jamie also coaches for the Maryland United Lacrosse Club and is a Director/Founder of the Mountain Ridge Elite Lacrosse Club. In addition, she has worked at several youth camps and clinics hosted by collegiate teams, including Robert Morris, Baldwin Wallace, and Longwood.

Jamie received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Coaching from Longwood University in 2013 and her Masters in Sports Management at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014.
