Shireyll Moore

Shireyll Moore joined the Howard women's basketball staff during the 2015-16 season, joining new Howard head coach Ty Grace at The Mecca.

Moore comes to Howard after working alongside Grace during the 2014-15 season at the University of New Haven. Grace and Moore helped the Chargers to a banner season last year: New Haven posted the fourth-most victories in school history (26), set a school record with 16 Northeast-10 Conference wins and made its first trip to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in nearly three decades after defeating 13th-ranked Stonehill College to win the East Region Championship. Moore's responsibilities at New Haven included serving as Recruiting Coordinator, guards coach, academic liaison and camp coordinator.

Prior to New Haven, Moore spent four seasons at Lafayette College working alongside Hall of Fame head coach Dianne Nolan. In addition to her contributions to the program’s recruiting and scouting efforts, Moore worked with the Leopards' wings and small forwards and coordinated team travel.

Before joining the Lafayette staff, she spent the 2009-10 basketball season as the assistant girls' basketball coach at her alma mater of Mount Vernon (N.Y.) High School.

Moore gained collegiate playing experience at Fairfield University from 2005-09. The Stags went 40-22 over her final two seasons, each of which ended in the semifinals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament. Moore's 117 games played at Fairfield rank her among the program's all-time leaders.

The native of Mount Vernon, N.Y. graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Fairfield and earned a Master's degree at West Virginia University, where her father, Lowes, earned All-America honors prior to a career in the NBA. At Fairfield, Moore was a Dean's List student, a three-time MAAC All-Academic selection and represented the University at an NCAA Leadership Conference in 2008.
