Kelly Sykes

In 2022, Kelly has joined the Howard University Tennis program as a volunteer coach.

Kelly specializes in multiple tennis performance programs as a tennis professional through the USPTA, PTR, and the USTA. After achieving multiple Certifications with over 10 years of coaching experience, Kelly has worked with longterm development programs and transitional performance programs to help players achieve their next level goals.

Currently, Kelly works with JTCC (College Park, Md.) as the Director of Future Champs. He is  involved with all other programs JTCC conducts including all juniors, junior performance academy, adult, wheelchair, and special olympics tennis programs.

Kelly has a degree in interdisciplinary studies, which focuses on behavioral psychology and social sociology.

Since 2020, Kelly has mentored and worked with a rising professional player to achieve a Davis Cup spot for Côte d’Ivorie (Ivory Coast) and winning their Group IV division 4-0 in 2021. 

In 2018, Kelly was awarded the Young Professional of the Year by the Professional Tennis Registry, being the first recipient in PTR history to ever claim this award.
