Justice Woods, MS, ATC, LAT, CES, is grateful to be a member of the Howard University Sports Medicine team since joining in 2020.

“I believe Justice [Woods] is a valuable piece for us," said Howard Director of Sports Medicine Lynson Willis, ATC, CES. "He will be able to give us insight of a Howard students' experience and working with student-athletes here prior, he can inform us of the various challenges that may arrive."

Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., Woods is a didactic healthcare professional who has covered a variety of athletics in various settings. Most recently, Justice operated as the Director of Sports Medicine for a school district in Houston, Texas. He did his graduate studies at the University of Houston and Stephen F. Austin State University. There, he worked with football and men’s basketball teams – among other sports – during their Peach Bowl winning season and NCAA Tournament appearances, respectively.

Woods is a proud Howard University alumni. Prior to arriving at Howard as an undergraduate, he played football at a junior college in Eureka, Calif. As an undergraduate at Howard, he assisted in generating work-study positions for athletic training students, so students would no longer have a conflict between working or gaining valuable experience in the field.

Woods has worked with athletics on various levels. Some of these include COPA America, DC United MLS U-21 team, and the wheelchair rugby national championship. Justice also operated as a first responder for the volunteer firefighter in Prince George County, Md. During his time with the department, he received his Fire 1 certification, among other emergency management certifications.

Justice is active member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and has served his organization in international and regional capacities. In his spare time, he enjoys training in Mixed Martial Arts and lifting weights. Justice is honored to have the opportunity to return to his alma mater and to serve Howard University student-athletes and the Howard community.
