In 2025, Talin Lewis joined the Howard University men's basketball staff as an assistant coach.
The 2025-26 campaign saw HU win 24 games, tying the school record for most wins in a season. More importantly, they won a first round NCAA game for the first time in school history. HU finished 23rd on the CollegeInsider.com Men's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll for the first time in its 27 years of existence.
Before joining the staff, Lewis was a two-year standout on the men's basketball team under head coach Kenneth Blakeney. The California native led HU to back-to-back MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances (2023 & 2024). During the 2022-23 season, Howard went 22-13 (11-3 MEAC) and won the MEAC Regular Season Title for the first time in more than 30 years.
In college, Lewis played a season at Corban University before transferring to The Mecca. He also spent two years at Southern California as a member of the men's basketball team (2020-21) and track team (2019-20).
Lewis graduated from Howard with a master of finance.
