David Davis

In 2020, David Davis joined Howard University as the Director of Football Operations under the leadership of Larry Scott. In July 2024, he was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director of Football Operations. His role includes direct oversight of the program’s budget, team travel, player development, housing, camps/clinics, preseason training camp, post season bowl logistics and special projects and events. Davis also supervises the support staff units that included recruiting, video, strength and conditioning, facilities, sports medicine and academics as it relates to the football program.

While on staff at Howard, Davis was a part of two Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships (2022 & 2023) and Howard’s first bid the Cricket Celebration Bowl (2023).

In addition to his role with the Bison, Davis was selected for national leadership duties. Davis currently serves as Committee member of the National Football Operations Organization (NFOO) where he currently represents college football administrators and operations personnel while representing the MEAC.

His coaching journey then took him to the University of Florida where he served as a graduate assistant for two years. At Florida is where he connected with Larry Scott.

Prior to Florida , Davis began his coaching career at Richland Northeast HS, his alma mater, where he spent three seasons as coordinator. During his time, he assisted his former school to multiple playoff runs in the state of South Carolina.

Davis played collegiate football at South Carolina State University. On the gridiron, he was a contributor to three MEAC championships and one Black College National Championship. In 2013, he earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from South Carolina State and went to complete his Masters degree in Sport Management from Florida in 2018.
