Manny Martinez
Offensive Line Coach
Manny Martinez begins his first season as offensive line coach at Howard University.  Martinez comes to the Hilltop after serving a second coach tour at Texas Southern in 2010 as the offensive line coach. He played an integral part in the Tigers winning the SWAC championship that season.
 
Before TSU, Martinez spent two seasons as offensive line coach at Alvin High School.
 
He was also the offensive line coach for the TSU Tigers from 2004-2007 during his first stint there. Prior to that tour, he spent two years as the offensive line coach at Blinn College.
 
He also served as the offensive line coach at Dodge City Community College for one season. Martinez spent two years with Texas A&M as a graduate assistant offensive line coach. He became interested in coaching at the University of Houston as a student assistant for the offensive line.
 
In an effort to learn more about his craft, Martinez participated in NFL Minority internships with the Detroit Lions (2001), the Houston Texans (2006), the Seattle Seahawks (2007) and the Minnesota Vikings (2010).
 
Coach Martinez played football for McMurry University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston in 1997.
 
Martinez is married to Michelle and they have one son, Matthew (13) and one daughter, Emma Rose (7).
