In 2023, Greg McGhee returned to his alma mater as quarterbacks coach for the Howard University football team.
Before his return to The Mecca, he spent two seasons as the quarterbacks coach at West Liberty University (2020-22). In addition to his work with the signal-callers, he took over offensive coordinator responsibilities for the 2022 season.
During his time at Howard, he set several school and conference records that stand today. The four-year starter earned back-to-back MEAC Offensive Player of the Year honors (2013 & 2014) and still holds the MEAC’s single-season and career total offense records.
After graduating from Howard, McGhee pursued a professional football career with multiple stops in the Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League before kicking off his coaching career as a graduate assistant at West Liberty.
The Pittsburgh, Pa. native starred at Perry Traditional Academy before beginning a stellar collegiate career at Howard.
