David Clowney

In 2017, David Clowney joined the Howard University football staff as its inside receivers coach/pass game coordinator after a seven-year career in the NFL.

In his first season, Clowney saw wide receivers Jequez Ezzard and Kyle Anthony receive All-MEAC honors.

In 2007, Clowney was selected in the fifth round (157th overall) by the Green Bay Packers after a four-year career at Virginia Tech, but shortly signed with the New York Jets where he played four seasons (2007-10). He also had stints with the Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills.

Clowney attended Atlantic Community High School (Delray Beach, Fla.) where he was a three-sport student-athlete (football, basketball, and track). He was an honorable mention Class 5A All-State selection in his senior season. The four-year letterwinner played receiver and safety while being named to the All-Palm Beach County Team. He was also a sprinter on the track team where he was a state finalist in the 200-meter dash.
