2017: Member of the 2017 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Champions ... played in 31 contests (100 sets) ... racked up 187 digs, 141 kills, 21 assists, 17 blocks (one solo) and eight aces ... had six double-digit dig matches and three double-digit kill performances ... produced 12 kills and five digs against Santa Clara (Aug. 26) ... recorded a double-double (14 digs and 11 kills) at Morgan State (Oct. 4) ... posted a season-best 15 digs and five kills against Maryland Eastern Shore (Oct. 27) ... registered 13 kills and four digs versus Morgan State (Nov. 10).

Personal: Jurnee Tipton from Father Gabriel Richard Catholic High School was ranked as the fourth-best high school volleyball player in Michigan by The Detroit News ... she is four-year letter winner and three-time First Team All-Catholic honoree ... the outside hitter was also a First Team All-Region and All-State selection three consecutive years ... she thrived during the 2015 season as she was named AVCA Player of the Week in the state of Michigan, featured in Sports Illustrated "Faces in the Crowd" December issue, and twice garnered a PrepVolleyball High School All-American "Highest Honorable Mention" accolade ... In her senior year, she was named the 2016 Ann Arbor News Volleyball Player of the Year ... off the court, Tipton was inducted into the National Honor Society and received the Lawrence Tech Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics in 2016 ... she finished her high school career playing for Michigan Elite volleyball club ... the computer science major chose Howard because her mother played volleyball for an HBCU and wanted to continue the legacy ...hobbies include volleyball, shopping, Netflix and math ... if she could invite any three people to dinner, they would be: Jesus; great great grandmother (moms side); and Harriet Tubman ... the person she admires the most is her mother because she is a pioneer, being the first person in the family to attend college.
