2016-17 Pre-season Player of the Year and first team All-MEAC selection, Daniel was named pre-season MEAC Player of the Year by several national publications including Atholon, Sporting News and College Sports Madness. Daniel only needs 376 points to become the conference’s all-time leading scorer. Daniel was named as Kyle Macy finalist during his freshman season. Daniel holds several school, season, game and career records including three pointers attempted in a season (241) most field goals attempted in a season (582), most three pointers made in a career (239) most free throws attempted and made in a season.

AS A JUNIOR 2015-16 (GAME-BY-GAME):
One of the premier guards in the country Daniel led all Division I players in scoring with 27.1 points per game. He also led all players in free throws attempted (331) and made (280), scored 30 points or more points nine times, including a career-high 39 in a win over William & Mary. Daniel holds school all-time record for points in a season (812) and in a career (1,899)…was named 2015-16 MEAC Player of the Year and All-American honorable mention. Daniel was named to several Black College All-America teams including Boxtorow…has scored 30 or more points in 14 games during his productive career. He led or tied for the team lead in scoring in 28 of the 29 game in which he played last season. He has failed to reach double figures only six times in 88 games played during his career. He was named the MEAC Rookie of the Year in 2013-14 after leading the MEAC and all freshmen players in scoring with 21.7 points. Daniel shot a career best 85 percent from the free throw line last season and is a career 83 percent shooter. He recorded a career-best 9 steals last season against UMass.
AS A SOPHOMORE 2014-15 (GAME-BY-GAME):
Led the team in scoring (16.7 points), assists (81) and steals (55) ... started in all 30 games in which he appeared.
AS A FRESHMAN 2013-14 (GAME-BY-GAME):
Led the team in scoring (21.0 points) ... was second in assists (44) and steals (37) ... appeared in 28 games with 26 starts ... scored 28 points in just 31 minutes against Washington College in his collegiate debut (Nov. 8).
Daniel came to Howard from Phoebus High School as a highly touted player who was the state of Virginia Tri Player of the Year.
Daniel is a sociology major and was born on January 29th, 1994 to James Daniel and Gloria Daniel. Daniel has a stepmother, Wendy Daniel. Daniel has one sister, Carmen Daniel and three brothers, Breon Key, Brice Rowe and Christopher Daniel.
