WASHINGTON (September 5, 2026) – Howard University women's soccer team returns to action Sunday (Sept. 6), facing La Salle in a nonconference clash in Philly (Philadelphia). Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m., live on ESPN+.

Howard is looking for its first win of the season (0-2-2).
Entering the season, HU was projected to finish fourth in the NEC.
Sophomore forward
Demi Owens (Teaneck, N.J.) returns to The Mecca as the squad's top scorer with nine points (four goals & one assist).
Bison head coach
Brent Leiba is in his 18
th season and has brought the program to national prominence during his tenure. He is the winningest coach in school history, nearing 150 victories and a future Hall of Famer.
LA SALLE
After opening the season with a 2-1 win over American (Aug. 13), La Salle (1-3-2) is looking to get back in the win column.
Justice Hollenbach leads the Explorers with six total points (two goals & two assists), followed by Sienna Mount (five points) and Ella Cadigan (three points).
Before the season, La Salle was projected to finish eighth in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll.

On Aug. 30, senior forward
Alauna Rutland (Fairfax, Va.) scored HU's lone goal in the setback at FIU, 5-1.
Senior goalie
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) produced seven saves in a losing effort.
