ANNAPOLIS, Md. (September 20, 2026) – Howard University men's golf team opened its 2026 fall slate at The Goat, hosted by Navy, where they tied for ninth overall. The two-day (Sept. 14-15), 54-hole event took place at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course (par-71, 6,925 yards) in Annapolis, Md.
Senior golfers
Mitchell Grey (Mississauga, Canada) and
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) led the Bison, tying for 31
st place (221, +8).
Newcomer
Nathan Szpakowicz made his Bison debut, shooting 9-over par (222) while tying for 35
th on the player leaderboard.
Collectively, HU shot 36-over par (888).
George Washington won The Goat after firing 4-over par (856). Crosstown rival Georgetown finished three strokes back (859, +7), followed by William & Mary and Saint Joe's tying for third place (863, +11).
UConn's Kai Jun Huang won the individual crown after defeating Carson Erick (Georgetown) and Preston Burton (William & Mary) in a three-hole play.
On Sept. 26-27, HU heads to Muncie, Ind., for the Earl Yestingsmeir Invitational, hosted by Ball State.
