BALTIMORE (September 15, 2026) – Howard University men's soccer team came up short in Baltimore, falling to UMBC, 2-0, Tuesday Night.
UMBC (3-2-1) grabbed the upper hand early, scoring an unassisted goal from Gunder Miller, 1-0.
With halftime looming, the Retrievers added another goal from Jack Reilly, who was assisted by Abdi Bahur, 2-0.
HU picked up the intensity after intermission, taking three more corner kicks than the Retrievers.
Despite the efforts, Howard was unable to erase the early deficit.

Calien Thomas (Ithaca, N.Y.) and freshman
Xavier Sharp (Aurora, Colo.) led the Bison charge, each taking two shots apiece. Junior
Rayce Welborne (Lawrenceville, N.J.) also registered a shot in the loss.
Senior goalie
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) played all 90 minutes, tallying five saves in a losing effort.
Saturday (Sept. 19), HU (1-5) hosts VMI in a nonconference clash. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m., at Greene Stadium.
