NORFOLK, Va. (August 31, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its women's volleyball weekly awards where Howard University freshman outside hitter
Addison Buckner (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) won the league's Rookie of the Week honor. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
Buckner produced 22 kills, 14 digs, four blocks and a service ace against Maryland (Aug. 28) and George Mason (Aug. 30). After recording seven kills, four digs and a block in a collegiate debut against the Terps, she notched her first career double-double (15 kills & 10 digs) against the Patriots.
Currently, Buckner is tied for seventh in the league 22 total kills.
Delaware State's Aaliyah Mitchell was named MEAC Player of the Week while Coppin State's Eva Rovello earned Setter of the Week. North Carolina Central's Allyson Rouse was selected Defensive Player of the Week.
The Bison return to action Thursday, Sept. 3, at 6 p.m., when they face Syracuse at the Cornell Invitational in Ithaca, N.Y.
