HOWARD
HU (0-0-2) is searching for its first win of the year after back-to-back draws against George Washington (Aug. 19) and Hampton (Aug. 22).
Monday (Aug. 24), the NEC unveiled its weekly honors where Howard University senior goalie
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) claimed the league's Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
In the matchups against George Washington and Hampton, Fort Knox produced 17 saves with a .944 save percentage.
Entering the season, HU was projected to finish fourth in the NEC.
Sophomore forward
Demi Owens (Teaneck, N.J.) returns to The Mecca as the squad's top scorer with nine points (four goals & one assist).
Bison head coach
Brent Leiba is in his 18
th season and has brought the program to national prominence during his tenure. He is the winningest coach in school history, nearing 150 victories and a future Hall of Famer.
FLORIDA ATLANTIC
FAU (0-2-1) comes in seeking its first win of the season.
Redshirt defender Sydney Neira, junior forward Haily Santiago and sophomore midfielder Isabel Bostic were named to the AAC Watch List. Overall, the Owls were projected to finish 10 in the league standings.
Florida Atlantic is by head coach Patrick Baker, who is in his 14
th season at the helm.
