WASHINGTON (February 6, 2026) – Howard University men's basketball team will be looking to extend its current win streak when it hosts South Carolina State University (SCSU) in a key showdown Saturday (Feb. 7) at 4:30 p.m., inside Burr Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs are 4-2 in conference play, a half-game ahead of the Bison, who are 4-3 in the standings. SCSU defeated Howard, 58-57, in the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) opener in Orangeburg (Jan. 3).

SCSU is coached by Erik Martin (Cincinnati, '93), who is in his third season. Howard is led by
Kenneth Blakeney (Duke, '95), who is in his seventh season.
THE SERIES
On Jan. 3, the Bulldogs edged the Bison, 58-57, in the conference opener in Orangeburg.
South Carolina State has won four-in-a-row, although, the two programs have split the last 10 matchups.
Howard's last win came when it pulled out an 82-78 victory in Orangeburg (Jan. 8, 2024). The Bison last win in DC came when it recorded a 100-74 decision (Jan. 30, 2023).
The Bulldogs hold a 13-10 advantage, dating back to 2005.
