NORFOLK, Va. (February 23, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly honors where Howard University saw junior guard
Cedric Taylor III (Atlanta) grab the league's Player of the Week for the third consecutive week. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
He shared the award with Morgan State guard Elijah Davis.
Taylor averaged 20.0 points per game while shooting 64-percent (16-of-25) from the field in a pair of conference wins over Delaware State (Feb. 16) and North Carolina Central (Feb. 21). In Dover, he produced 19 points, five boards, three dimes and two steals. Five days later, the Atlanta product filled the stat sheet again with 21 points, six rebounds, six assists and four blocks against the Eagles.
This season, Taylor is averaging 19.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 blocks in league play.
Sophomore forward
Travelle Bryson (Anderson, S.C.) received honorable mention after averaging 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in the victories against Delaware State and North Carolina Central.
Coppin State guard Cameron Sparrow earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week while Norfolk State guard Adrean Newton was named Rookie of the Week.
Howard has a big showdown with Morgan State in Baltimore Saturday (Feb. 28) at 4:30 p.m.
