NORFOLK, Va. (February 4, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its track & field weekly honors where Howard University senior
Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) was selected Women's Field Athlete of the Week. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
At the Wisconsin Windy City Invite (Feb. 6-7), she captured first place in the weight throw with a MEAC-best 18.31 meters. The Texas native also recorded a league-best 14.27 meters in the shot put, finishing seventh overall in the event.
Norfolk State senior Brooklyn Robinson was selected MEAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
On the men's side, seniors
Jorim Bangue (Yaounde, Cameroon) and
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) received honorable mention after their performances in Chicago. Bangue placed third overall in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking in at 7.93, the Virginia native won gold in the triple jump with a MEAC-best leap 15.31 meters.
Delaware State sophomore Ian Cain was selected MEAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week while teammate Christopher Johnson earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
Howard heads to the MEAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 22-23) in Virginia Beach, Va.
