Seven Bison Prepare for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Howard concludes outdoor season on the national stage in Eugene

WASHINGTON (June 9, 2026) – Howard University track & field program sends seven Bison to Eugene, Ore., to compete at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships. The four-day event (June 10-13) is set to take place at Hayward Field, hosted by the University of Oregon.

MEET PREVIEW
 
Monday (June 1), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) unveiled its Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships qualifiers where HU saw seven Bison in four entries: 200-meter dash (women); 400-meter hurdles twice (women) and 4x100 relay (women).
 
WOMEN
 
Thursday (June 12), graduate Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom), juniors Yahnari Lyons (Hampton, Ga.) and Mackenzie Robinson (Ypsilanti, Mich.) and freshman Nilijah Darden (Greensboro, N.C.) open Day Two with the 4x100 relay. The four runners look to become the second All-American 4x100 relay squad in program history. Third-year Bison Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.) will fill in as an alternate, if needed.
 
Individually, senior Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburg, N.C.) and sophomore Cenaiya Billups (Denver) compete in the 400-meter hurdles. The Tar Heel native is seeking consecutive All-American honors while the Denver product makes her national stage debut.   
 
Lyons closes out Day Two with the 200-meter dash. The Georgia native is looking to become the first Bison All-American in the event since Olympian Jessika Gbai (2022).
