Women’s Hoops Looks to Continue Its Streak at DSU

Bison travel to Dover Thursday night

DOVER, Del. (February 10, 2026) – Howard University women's basketball team will be looking to extend its current win streak to five when it takes on the Hornets of Delaware State (DSU) Thursday (Feb. 12) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matchup. Tipoff is schedule for 6 p.m., inside Memorial Hall Bayhealth Court (1,800).

Delaware State (4-19, 1-7 MEAC) fell, 58-44, to North Carolina Central Monday (Feb. 9) for its third straight loss. Junior guard Jermesha Frierson led thew way with 13 points and five rebounds.
 
HOWARD
 
On Feb. 7, senior forward Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) poured in a team-high 20 points and just missed another double-double as the Bison rolled to an 85-66 win over South Carolina State at Burr Gymnasium.

THE COACHES
 
Delaware State is coached by Jazmone Turner (Muskingum, '12) who is in her second season. Howard is led by Ty Grace (New Haven, '99), who is in her 11th season and the second winningest coach in school history.
 
SERIES RECORD
 
Howard has won 20-in-a-row against the Hornets, including a 73-63 victory in D.C., back on Jan. 8. The Hornets placed four players in double figures, led by freshman center Lilliana Harrison with 14 points. The Bison got 14 points from junior guard Zoe Stewart (Terre Haute, Ind.).
 
Delaware State last won, 73-63, in Dover (January 8, 2012).
 
The Bison lead the series, 27-11, dating back to 2005.
