Howard University to Host 100 Women for Howard

A Legacy in Motion Annual Fundraiser Supporting Women’s Basketball

WASHINGTON (February 1, 2026) - Howard University Women's Basketball will host its signature annual fundraiser, 100 Women for Howard: A Legacy in Motion, Saturday, February 21, 2026, at The Oliver, convening influential women and allies across sports, business and leadership to invest in the continued growth and sustainability of the program.

The ticketed event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. tipoff as Howard Women's Basketball faces North Carolina Central University in a highly anticipated conference matchup.

Designed as an exclusive professional development and leadership experience, 100 Women for Howard blends impact, access and inspiration, supporting student-athletes while cultivating pathways for emerging professionals seeking careers in sports, business and leadership. Through intentional networking, mentorship and storytelling, the event reinforces Howard University's commitment to excellence both on and off the court.

"Our goal is to ensure our student-athletes are supported holistically academically, athletically and professionally," said Head Coach Ty Grace, Howard University Women's Basketball. "The impact of 100 Women for Howard goes far beyond one day. It helps create pathways, exposure and opportunity that last well beyond the season."

The afternoon will feature curated programming and a dynamic fireside chat headlined by Jaia Thomas, Esq., whose influence across sports and business aligns seamlessly with the event's mission of legacy, leadership, and forward momentum.

Thomas, sports and entertainment attorney and founder of Diverse Representation, emphasized the importance of visibility and access for the next generation.

"Studies show that HBCU women's athletic programs are significantly underfunded. I'm excited to support 100 Women for Howard in its efforts to close the economic gap and ensure that young women basketball players at Howard are afforded the same opportunities as their counterparts across the country," said Thomas. "I'm thrilled to support 100 Women for Howard and its continued efforts to highlight and increase investment in Howard women's basketball."

Proceeds from the event directly benefits Howard University Women's Basketball, strengthening resources that empower student-athletes through financial literacy, brand-building opportunities and long-term career development.

100 Women for Howard: A Legacy in Motion continues to elevate Howard Women's Basketball as a premier program while reinforcing the University's broader commitment to leadership, equity, and excellence. The event is powered by The SVE Firm, whose strategic vision and execution continue to amplify impact-driven initiatives at the intersection of sports, community, and culture.
