Men’s Soccer Falls to LIU Despite Wyze-Daly’s Career Day

Senior goalie records 11 saves in the Bison’s home setback

WASHINGTON (October 18, 2026) — Howard University men's soccer (3-10-1, 1-3-1 NEC) fell to LIU (3-7-0, 3-1-0), 1-0, at Greene Stadium Sunday afternoon despite Ireal Wyze-Daly (Ontario, Canada) career day.

Howard held LIU scoreless through the opening 45 minutes with Wyze-Daly making several key stops to keep the match level. He turned away consecutive attempts late in the first half, including shots in the 43rd minute, to help the Bison enter halftime scoreless.

On the attacking end, Onarae Rice (Greenville, S.C.) sent a late first-half attempt high while Zach Simmons (Rockwall, Texas) put an effort wide of the goal earlier in the period.

Howard looked to break the deadlock early in the second half as Khari Sharrieff (Southampton, Bermuda) sent a shot high in the 48th minute.

LIU continued to apply pressure and Wyze-Daly made another save before the visitors found the net at 57:26 to take a 1-0 lead.

The Bison looked for an equalizer with Simmons putting Howard's only shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the opposing goalkeeper made the save.

Barry Souare-Wooten also attempted to get Howard on the board while Daniil Kaban (Kharkiv, Ukraine) took two late shots as the Bison continued to push forward. Howard was unable to find the equalizer before time expired.

Wyze-Daly delivered a strong performance in his second home start of his collegiate career, recording a career-best 11 saves on 12 LIU shots.

Simmons recorded two shots, including one on goal. Rice, Sharrieff and Souare-Wooten each added one shot and Kaban finished with two attempts.

The Bison finished with three corner kicks while the visitors recorded 18 shots and five corners.

Howard returns to Greene Stadium Sunday, Oct. 25, hosting New Haven at 11 a.m.
