NORFOLK, Va. (January 5, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its women's basketball weekly awards where Howard University senior forward
Nile Miller (Woodbury, N.J.) was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
Miller filled the stat sheet, defensively, averaging 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.0 blocks against Army (Dec. 29) and South Carolina State (Jan. 3). On the offensive end, she posted 11.5 points per game.
This season, Miller ranks among the MEAC leaders in several categories, including rebounds per game (6
th), field goal percentage (2
nd) and steals per game (2
nd), which ranks 54
th in the nation.

Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) and freshman guard
Ariella Henigan (Chicago) received honorable mention.
Coppin State guard Khila Morris was named MEAC Player of the Week while Delaware State guard Amya Scott took home the conference's Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Howard hosts Delaware State in its MEAC home opener Thursday (Jan. 8) at 6 p.m., inside Burr Gymnasium.
