ROCKVILLE, Md. (January 31, 2026) – Howard University women's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 match to Georgetown Saturday evening in Rockville, Md.
Junior
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) served as the club's top singles player, defeating the Hoyas' Emily Novikov in straight sets (6-2, 6-3).
Lone senior
Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) also won her singles match in straight sets, topping Georgetown's Ruhika Bhat (6-1, 6-4).
DMV native rookie
Camille Hall (Bowie, Md.) outlasted the Hoyas' Ashley Kennedy in three sets (7-6, 4-6, 7-6).
In doubles play, junior
Dana Hall (Miami) and freshman
Franchesca Brown (Atlanta) knocked off Georgetown's Bhat and Katie Garofolo-Ro (7-6).
Georgetown won the other two doubles contests to score the deciding match point.
HU heads to Virginia for a pair of matchups. Friday (Feb. 13), Howard goes to Harrisonburg, Va., to battle James Madison. First-serve at 10 a.m. The following day (Feb. 14), the Bison travel to Williamsburg, Va., to face William & Mary. Match time is slated for 1 p.m.
