MATCHUP PREVIEW

HOWARD (1-6-1, 0-1-0 NEC)

The Bison are looking to bounce back after a tough 8-0 road loss at No. 16 Duke Tuesday night (Sept. 23).

Despite the score line, goalkeeper Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) stood out with eight saves under heavy pressure, as Howard faced a 29-shot onslaught from the Blue Devils.

Offensively, the Bison struggled to generate chances, registering just two total shots and none on target.

The team will need to find ways to reestablish possession and apply pressure higher up the pitch if they hope to secure their first conference win. Sunday's match offers a new opportunity against a conference opponent still adjusting to NEC competition. Expect the Bison to tighten up defensively and look for creative sparks in the final third.

NEW HAVEN (3-1-3, 0-1-0 NEC)

New Haven dropped its first match of the season earlier this week, falling, 3-0, to Quinnipiac. The Chargers conceded once late in the first half and twice more after the break in a match where they were outpaced in transition.

Despite the setback, New Haven has shown promising form this season. The Chargers have been led by strong midfield play from Daniel Ehlin and Tommaso Illario and have multiple players capable of threatening in the attacking third.

Defensively, Alessandro Bizzini has anchored the backline with consistent play in goal.

New Haven will look to rebound quickly at home and pick up their first NEC win since joining the conference.

LAST TIMEOUT

Howard faced a nationally ranked Duke squad and struggled to contain the Blue Devils' speed and finishing. Despite several strong saves from Keiller, the Bison fell behind early and were unable to recover.

New Haven fell to Quinnipiac in a 3-0 defeat that snapped their unbeaten start. The Chargers allowed a goal just before halftime and were unable to claw their way back into the match.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Following Sunday's trip to New Haven, the Bison return home Thursday (Oct. 2) to host Le Moyne College at 7 p.m., inside Greene Stadium. The match will stream live on NEC Front Row and marks another opportunity to earn crucial points in conference play.
