BALTIMORE (September 1, 2025) – Howard University men's soccer team came up short on Labor Day, falling to UMBC, 1-0, in Baltimore.
UMBC (4-0) scored the lone goal less than a minute into the match. Brady Geho recorded his third goal this season to propel the Retrievers to victory.
Howard was held to only four shots, led by junior
Onarae Rice (Greenville, S.C.) with three shots. Second-year forward
Daniil Kaban (Kharkiv, Ukraine) registered a shot in the loss.
Redshirt sophomore
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) faced 22 shots on the night, producing seven saves in a losing effort.
The physical contest saw 28 fouls, three yellow cards and one red card.
On Sept. 6, HU closes out its road swing at Radford. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
