WASHINGTON (August 28, 2025) – Howard University men's soccer (0-2) fell in its home opener, 2-0, against San Diego State University (SDSU) Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium. Now, the Bison turn their attention to a challenging road matchup at Navy Friday, August 29, at 7 p.m. ET in Annapolis, Md.

HOWARD
HU (0-2) enters Friday night's matchup searching for its first win of the season after a competitive battle against SDSU.
The Bison's defense showcased resilience, shutting down several early chances before the Aztecs broke the deadlock in the 70
th minute on a header following a free kick. Another goal seven minutes later extended SDSU's lead, 2-0.
Naim Robinson (Detroit) led the Bison attack with two shots while
Zach Simmons (Rockwall, Texas) and
Christian Rufael (Washington) nearly connected for a highlight goal in the 47
th minute before being denied by the keeper.
In goal, redshirt sophomore
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) played all 90 minutes, recording seven saves.
NAVY
The Midshipmen (0-0-2) enter Friday's matchup coming off a 1-1 draw against William & Mary Monday (Aug. 25) night at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
Will Cawlfield provided the early spark, netting the opening goal in the 28
th minute off a feed from Andrew Schug and Keane Brown. Freshman goalkeeper Dylan Carmody impressed in his first collegiate start, making two key saves, but William & Mary equalized in the 70
th minute after Diogo Branco connected with Gabe Ruitenburg, who found Aidan Morrison for the finish.
The Midshipmen looked threatening throughout the match, holding a 9-7 shot advantage and nearly converting on multiple chances from Duncan Sullivan, Wyatt Stevens and Gavin McBride.
Despite their pressure, Navy settled for its second straight draw to start the 2025 campaign.
LAST TIMEOUT
Howard fell, 2-0, to San Diego State Sunday (Aug. 24) at Greene Stadium. After a scoreless first half, the Aztecs struck twice in the final 20 minutes to secure the win.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
