BALTIMORE (July 22, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its 2025 Football Preseason awards where Howard University saw six Bison earn recognition. The announcement came during the league's annual media day, live on ESPN+.
Four Bison made Preseason All-MEAC First Team: seniors running back
Eden James (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) and defensive lineman
Noah Miles (Tampa, Fla.), redshirt junior offensive lineman
Tim Artis Jr. (Cornelius, N.C.) and junior defensive lineman
Ishaun Abdul-Ali (Charlotte, N.C.).
Redshirt junior quarterback
Ja'Shawn Scroggins (Las Vegas) and sophomore running back/return specialist
Anthony Reagan Jr. (Woodbury, N.J.) earned spots on the Preseason All-MEAC Second Team.
Additionally, the league unveiled its Preseason Predicted Order of Finish where Howard was predicted to fifth. HU tallied 33 points, including one first-place vote.
Morgan State's Jason Collins Jr. and Erick Hunter were selected MEAC Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively.
South Carolina State was projected to repeat as MEAC Champions, scoring 63 points (five first-place votes), edging out North Carolina Central (61 points, four first-place votes).
The MEAC Football Preseason Awards and Predicted Order of Finish were voted by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Howard opens the 2025 season against Florida A&M in the Orange Blossom Classic Saturday (August 30). Kickoff is set for 4 p.m., at Hard Rock Stadium.
