ORLANDO, Fla. (March 4, 2025) – Howard University men's tennis team came up short to former conference rival North Carolina A&T State (NCAT), 4-3, in Orlando, Fla., during its annual spring break rodeo.
Howard pounced on the Aggies early, winning all three doubles matches.

Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.) and sophomore
Michael Major, Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas) served as the club's top doubles team, taking down the Aggies' Ian Pedersen and Said Akbarov, 6-1.

Daniel Dunac (Washington) and rookie standout
Kaosie Nwokedi (Charlotte, N.C.) outlasted NCAT's Jindrich Brill and Lucas Coupu-Moison, 7-5.

Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem N.C.) rounded out the pairings, competing in the No. 3 slot where they topped North Carolina A&T State's Kaua Santos and Mathieu Dussaubat, 7-6 [7-5].
In singles competition, Major and Nwokedi won their respective contests in straight sets.
Despite the hot start, NCAT kept its composure by winning three singles matches in straight sets.
In the deciding match, Lash came up short against Akbarov, falling in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 4-6).
NCAT remains unbeaten during the spring slate (7-0).
HU (2-6) has another extended break, not playing until March 14 against Harford C.C., at Banneker Recreation Center. First-serve at 2:30 p.m.
