WASHINGTON (March 30, 2025) – Howard University women's tennis team earned its first MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) win of the season, taking down rival Norfolk State (NSU), 5-2, at the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's East Capitol Campus in D.C.
NSU (10-8, 3-1 MEAC) took the early match lead, 1-0, after winning all three doubles contests.
HU rebounded in singles play, winning five-out-of-six matches.
Senior
Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) served in the No. 1 singles slot where she defeated NSU's Sofiya Tsitavets in straight sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-0).

Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.), junior
Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) and sophomores
Ava Chambers (Wellington, Fla.) and
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each won their respective matches in straight sets.
On April 4, Howard (6-7, 1-2 MEAC) goes to Fairfax, Va., to face DMV rival George Mason. Match time is slated for 2 p.m.
