FORT COLLINS, Colo. (March 17, 2025) – The Postseason WNIT unveiled its 48-team bracket where the Howard University women's basketball team drew Siena College in the opening round. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
 
The matchup is slated for Friday (March 21) at 7 p.m., inside The Burr.
 
Howard was among the 11 teams who earned the automatic qualifier for being the highest regular-season finishers in their conference that did not receive a bid into the NCAA Tournament or WBIT.
 
Entering Friday's showdown, HU posted a 21-11 overall mark (12-2 MEAC) and reached the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Title game for the fifth consecutive year. In 2022, Howard reached the NCAA Tournament and won the inaugural First Four matchup versus Incarnate Word.
 
For Sienna, first-year head coach Terry Primm has led the Saints to the program's sixth postseason tournament and the first since reaching the WBIT Championship in the 2014-15 season.
 
This will be the third meeting between HU and Siena with the Saints winning the previous two contests (2017 & 2018).
 
The winner advances to play the College of Charleston in the Second Round. Time, date and location are TBD.
