WASHINGTON (February 7, 2025) – Howard University women's basketball team hosts North Carolina Central (NCCU) Saturday (Feb. 8) inside Burr Gymnasium. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.

Monday (Feb. 3), junior forward Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) recorded a double-double (19 points & 10 rebounds) and graduate guard Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) added 13 points to lead the Bison to a 68-41 win over South Carolina State (SC State) at Burr Gymnasium.
 
NCCU
 
NCCU (6-15, 3-3 MEAC) is coming off an 88-52 road loss at Norfolk State Monday (Feb. 3). The Eagles were led by Kia Bryan with a team-high 15 points and Tierney Coleman (12 points) and Morgan Callahan (nine points & seven rebounds), respectively.
 
SERIES RECORD
 
On March 15, 2024, Howard defeated the Eagles, 69-56, in the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Tournament to snap a three-game losing skid to the Eagles. The Bison have won three-of-four and lead the series, 15-5, since 2011.
 
THE COACHES
 
The Eagles are coached by Terrence Baxter (Pfieffer, '01), who is his fourth season. Howard is led by Ty Grace (New Haven,'99), who is in her 10th season.

Howell is now 13th on the all-time Howard scoring list with 1,256 points and needs 74 to move up to 10th all-time in school history…Howell has made 31-of-her-last 33 from the charity stripe and has made at least one three-pointer in all but two games this season...Howell is on schedule to have a career season in assists...Howell has scored 20 points or more six times this season...Freshman guard Saniyah King (Washington), the early season favorite for MEAC Rookie of the Year, has been named the league's Rookie of the Week eight times this season...King leads the MEAC in assists (99), making her just one shy of the century mark…King has dealt out 28 assists in the past five games and has reached double figures in scoring seven-of-the-past-eight games…Thomas has also been valuable to the team with five double-doubles this season…senior forward Vanessa Blake (Summerville, S.C.), who now comes off the bench, has given the Bison a spark with 39 points and 24 rebounds in the past four games.

NCCU is allowing 84.5 points per game (ppg) while averaging 60.4 ppg…The Eagles' opponents are shooting 44-percent from the field…NCCU is shooting 28-percent from three and being outrebounded 10.8 boards per game…The Eagles are surrendering 26 points per game off turnovers…Morgan Callahan reached a personal milestone of 600 career rebounds in the loss at Norfolk State (Feb. 3)…The loss to the Spartans snapped a four-game win streak for NCCU.
