GENEVA, Ohio (February 21, 2025) - Howard University women's swimming and diving holds the runner-up spot on Day Three of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships.
Earning six top finishes throughout the day, the Bison currently sit in second place with a score of 489.5 – just 61 points behind leader and reigning champions Central Connecticut State.
Chanice Posada (Houston) started Howard off by shaving over two seconds from her personal best of 55.96 to win the 100 Fly with a time of 54.04.
Zuilda Nwaeze (Colombia, Md.) dominated the 200 Free with a season-best 1:48.83, beating the competition by more than two seconds.
Senior
Zaylie-Elizabeth Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) earned her second individual medal of this year's championship, swimming a personal best 1:02.30 in the 100 Breast for a silver medal.
Nearly two seconds ahead of the pack, sophomore swimmer Posada posted a time of 54.15 to win the 100 Back.
Myeisha Sharrieff (Bermuda) tied for silver, swimming the event with a time of 56.17.
Howard's A relay team consisting of Posada, Nwaeze, Thompson and
Kelsey Roberson (West Orange, N.J.) closed out the night by winning the 400 Medley Relay with a new program record of 3:43.30.
