GENEVA, Ohio (February 20, 2025) – Howard University women's swimming & diving team remains in second place after Day Two of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships in Geneva, Ohio.
Senior
Kelsey Roberson (West Orange, N.J.), junior
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) and sophomores
Summer McKoy (Pikesville, Md.) and
Jasmine Morgan (Chicago) capped off the night with a victory in the 200 Free Relay, clocking in at a new meet benchmark (1:32.43). Nwaeze made history in that same race, becoming the first women in program history to make the NCAA B-cut after leading off with a mark of 22.57.
Individually, Nwaeze competed in the 50 Free where she set a new conference record (22.65).
Morgan, Roberson, McKoy and rookie
Gabrielle Vickles (El Dorado, Trinidad & Tobago) also took part in the race, finishing second (23.28), fourth (23.40), fifth (23.59) and eighth (23.98), respectively.
Senior
Zaylie-Elizabeth Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) won silver in the 200 IM, recording a 2:02.98 time.
On the board, senior
Jordynn Connell (Flower Mound, Texas) earned sixth in the 1-meter dive, scoring 209.35 points.
Collectively, HU has tallied 281 points. Reigning NEC Champion Central Connecticut State holds the top spot with 379.5 points.
The NEC Championships continues Friday (Feb. 21) with prelims at 10 a.m., followed the final round at 6 p.m.
