GENEVA, Ohio (February 19, 2025) – Howard University women's swimming & diving team opened the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships with a new benchmark.
Senior
Zaylie-Elizabeth Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas), junior
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) and sophomores
Jasmine Morgan (Chicago) and
Chanice Posada (Houston) won the 200 medley relay race, clocking in at a new meet record (1:40.41). The previous mark was set back in 2016.
On the board, senior
Jordynn Connell (Flower Mound, Texas) and second-year Bison
Jala Wilson (Richmond, Va.) competed in the consolation round of the 3-meter dive, finishing ninth (173.10) and 10
th (142.50) while combining for 16 points.
HU sits in second place after Day One, tallying 86 points. Central Connecticut State leads the pack with 155 points.
The NEC Championships continues Thursday (Feb. 20) with prelims at 10 a.m., followed the final round at 6 p.m.
