Men’s Basketball Clashes with Dragons Tuesday

Bison look to continue streak at Drexel

WASHINGTON (December 15, 2025) – Howard University men's basketball team looks to push its win streak to four Tuesday (Dec. 16) when it clashes with the Drexel Dragons inside Daskalaki Athletic Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m., live on Flo Sports.

Howard is coached by Kenneth Blakeney (Duke, '95), who is in his seventh season. Drexel is led by Zach Spiker (Ithaca, '00), who is in his 10th season.

Saturday (Dec. 13), graduate guard Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored a team-high 16 points and recorded a double-double to lead the Bison to a 61-57 win over Hampton in the Battle of the Real HU Classic at the Care First Arena in Southeast D.C.
 
DREXEL
 
On Dec. 6, Drexel (4-6) lost, 69-64, to crosstown rival LaSalle. The Dragons were led by Garfield Turner with 12 points and Shane Blakeney and Josh Reed each had 11 points in the setback.

Harris, the frontrunner for MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Player of the Year, has established himself as one of the best players in the country, ranking sixth in the country in total points…In the MEAC, Harris leads in scoring (20.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.1 rpg)…Junior guard Alex Cotton (Carrollton, Texas) ranks sixth three pointers made per game (2.4)…Junior guard Cam Gillus Falls Church, Va.) is among the league leader in multiple categories, including steals (2nd), assists (4th), free throw percentage(7th) and assist/turnover ratio (8th)…Nationally, Gillus is tied for 12th in steals…Freshman guard Jeremiah Johnson (Potomac, Md.) is fourth in steals in the MEAC…As a team, the Bison rank first in team offense…Howard is averaging 7.3 three-point field goals made per game while shooting almost 40-percent from beyond the arc…The Bison are sharing the ball (16 assists per game) while forcing the takeaways (9.6 steals per game & 20 points off opponents' turnovers)…Senior guard Ose Okojie (Brampton, Canada) has been a pleasant surprise after missing much of the past two seasons with various medical issues; thus, having his best scoring season in a Bison uniform…Sophomore forward Travelle Bryson (Anderson, S.C.), who has been a major contributor for Howard off the bench, has missed the past four games; however, the Bison did welcome back junior guard Cedric Taylor III (Atlanta), who made his debut with 10 points against Hampton (Dec. 13)…Harris, Gillus and freshman center Danas Kazakevicius (Vilnius, Lithuania) took home MEAC Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for their performances against North Carolina A&T State (Dec. 9) and Hampton (Dec. 13).
