HOWARD
Howard is coming off a second-place finish in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) after going 22-12 (12-2 MEAC). The Bison lost to Norfolk State in the MEAC Title game, but received a Postseason WNIT bid, defeating Siena in the first round before losing to College of Charleston in the second round.
Before the season, Howard has been picked to win the conference despite losing three starters. The Bison are led by senior forwards
Nile Miller (Woodbury, N.J.) and
Zennia Thomas (Cleveland), both first-team preseason all-conference selections, and junior forward
Sa'lah Hemingway (San Bernardino, Calif.).
PROVIDENCE
Providence finished the 2024-25 season with a 13-19 mark (6-12 Big East). The Friars have a rebuilt lineup after losing 10 players to graduation.
Providence defeated Franklin Pierce, 71-38, in its exhibition game at Alumni Hall. Sophomore guard Dunbar Payton and graduate guard Sabou Gueye each scored 12 in the victory.
