Women’s Hoops Back On The Road at Purdue

Bison take on Boilermakers Wednesday

WASHINGTON (November 25, 2025) – Howard University women's basketball team (6-1) back on the road Wednesday (Nov. 26), facing Purdue (3-2) in a nonconference showdown at Mackey Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for noon and will be aired on BIG+.

On Nov. 23, senior forward Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) recorded yet another double-double, redshirt junior guard Zoe Stewart (Terre Haute, Ind.) chipped in with 16 points and freshman guard Emma Nuquay (Waldorf, Md.) contributed 11 points off the bench to help the Bison defeat William & Mary, 64-53, in a nonconference showdown at Burr Gymnasium.
 
PURDUE
 
Sunday (Nov. 23), the Boilermakers defeated Miami (Ohio), 79-68, at home. Madison Layden-Zay led the Boilermakers with 21 points but it the trio of reserves Taylor Feldman (16 points), Leah McCarthy (12 points) and Nya Smith (9 points), who came off the bench to combine for 37 points.

Howard is coached by Ty Grace (New Haven, '99), who is in her 11th season and is the second winningest coach in school history. Purdue is led by Katie Gearlds (Purdue, '07), who is in her fifth year.

The Howard defense is allowing only 54 points per game during the first seven outings…The Bison are holding their opponents to 34-percent shooting from the floor and 20-percent from three-point range…They are getting 22 points off turnovers while recording 11.3 steals and 49 total blocked shots…As a team, Howard is shooting 73-percent…Thomas has been named the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Player of the Week twice this season.
