MATCHUP PREVIEW

HOWARD (4-4-2, 2-0-1 NEC)

Howard comes off a solid 2-0 win on the road at Mercyhurst Sunday (Sept. 28); thus, the squad's third straight unbeaten result in conference play.

Gabriella Garcia-Terrell (Centreville, Va.) led the offense with both goals in the first 21 minutes, pushing her season total to five scores.

Howard outshot Mercyhurst, 18-11, and looked in control for most of the match. The Virginia native took seven shots, including six on target.

Defensively, the Bison stayed organized with goalkeeper Trinity Knox (Atlanta) making four saves while shutting out the Lakers.

Sunday's game offers the Bison a chance to stay undefeated in NEC play and defend their home turf.

DELAWARE STATE (3-6-3, 1-2-1 NEC)

Delaware State picked up its first NEC win last weekend, beating Saint Francis, 2-1, on the road.

The Hornets struck early with goals from Nicole Cargill and Trinity Surowiec in the opening three minutes. Cargill has now scored three times this season.

While the Hornets has struggled to find consistency, their fast start last match shows they can be dangerous if allowed early space. DSU will look to carry that momentum into Greene Stadium and test Howard's backline.

LAST TIMEOUT

Howard defeated Mercyhurst, 2-0, behind a pair of goals from Garcia-Terrell and a clean sheet by Knox.

Delaware State edged Saint Francis, 2-1, with both goals coming in the opening three minutes.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Howard hits the road Thursday (Oct. 9) to face Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m., and the match will be available on NEC Front Row.
