MATCHUP PREVIEW
HOWARD (4-10-1)
Howard is coming off a 2–0 road loss to conference opponent LIU Sunday (Oct. 26) where goalkeeper
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) recorded seven saves to keep the Bison within striking distance.
Despite a strong start and key opportunities created by
Roman Stallings (Tyrone, Ga.) and
Naim Robinson (Detroit), Howard was unable to convert chances into goals.
The Bison will now shift focus to a nonconference test against Virginia State, hoping to regain attacking rhythm and sharpness in the final third.
Howard has posted two shutouts in its last three home matches and will look to maintain defensive composure while rediscovering its scoring touch.
Offensively, Stallings and Robinson remain key contributors while Keiller continues to anchor the defense with consistent shot-stopping ability.
VIRGINIA STATE (1-6-3)
The Trojans enter Wednesday's match following a 1–1 draw at Mount Olive over the weekend. After trailing in the second half, sophomore forward Sebastine Daniel delivered the equalizer in the 71
st minute, capitalizing on an assist from Micaiah Agyei.
Goalkeeper Elijah Fernandez was the standout for VSU, recording 13 saves on 25 shots faced. The Trojans were outshot, heavily, but remained resilient defensively and demonstrated an ability to stay organized under pressure.
Daniel, who led the team with two shots on goal in the draw, will be the player to watch for VSU while Fernandez provides the last line of defense with a high save rate.
Virginia State has only one win on the year but continues to push for positive results in tightly contested matches.
LAST TIMEOUT
Howard dropped a 2–0 decision to LIU on the road with Keiller registering seven saves and
Stallings producing the team's best offensive chance in the first half.
